A Brief Report On Translation And Translation Of Tourism English Textbooks

This report is an English-Chinese translation of The Economic Impacts of Tourism,the fifth part selected from the tourism text book of The Business of Tourism. From theperspective of the translator, with a great deal of reference to Chinese and Englishparallel texts, the author systematically discusses the differences in diction,sentence-making and composition planning between English and Chinese textbooks andput forward feasible translation methods and strategies. With the theoretical direction ofparallel texts and the principle of being faithful, concise and authentic to the source text,the author discusses how to make the material conform to the habits of reading andways of compiling of China. This study has a certain practical significance to theEnglish-Chinese translation of foreign texts，it stresses that translation studies are sourcefrom and should be served to translation practice, and points out the great importance ofcarrying out translation practice in academic research.
