Philosophical Thinking On The Lack Of Social Morality In China Under The Background Of Modernization

As a historical phenomenon, modernization ascendants. Under thebackground of modernization, Our country transits from a traditionalagricultural society to industrial society and information society.Public life is of unprecedented prosperity. However, the role of thetraditional morality is not obvious in the new social field. The moralitywhich public life needs was not set up synchronously. As“the role shouldbe obeied by all of civilious in socoal communications and publicactivities”,from the practice aspect,social morality has thesignificance only in the final formation of the individual socialmorality.In theory, the individual’s sense of morality and behavior isthe effective moral order in the public space, which is spontaneouslyformed by the individuals of public life which use the public reason inconstant in the contact practice. But in real life, the cultivation ofthe individual’s social morality represents the process that the socialnorms of morality conversion from self-discipline to heteronomy.Therefore, the key of solving the problem of lack of morality is how totransform the moral external to the individual to the inherent virtue.Thus, the emergence of a good social morality depends on the positiveinteraction between moral subjects, morality norms and moralityenvironment. In this process, the key of morality construction is toformulate morality norms that meet the requirements of social development,to cultivate moral subjects with public reason, to put up a good moralenvironment, and to establish an effective monitoring mechanism of socialmorality. The reason why our country is faced the serious lack of socialmorality is that there are many problems of different degrees in variousaspects of morality construction. Therefore, it is not overnight to changethe status quo of China’s lack of social morality. The construction ofChina’s social morality is surely a comprehensive and systematic project.
