As a new service industry based on the IT technology, sotfware service industryis different from the traditional service industry on the following characteirstics: itsknowledge, intangibility and skill-intensive. The wide sense of sotfware serviceindustry includes the consulting industry, training and education service, sotfwareout-sourcing service and data processing and analysis and so on. While the narrowsense of sotfware service industry is compirsed by the producing and sales service ofsotfware and necessary technical support. With the application of sotfware in the dailylife, the sotfware service industry is making a gradual progress, but some moralproblems airse in the process. Such as the problem of unfair competition, theintellectual property and the special softwarefree sotfware. This thesis intends todiscuss the ethic problems of the sotfware service industry by the following chapters.Chapter1tires to analyze the ethic problem of the producing process of software.Atfer describing the process of sotfware producing, we will make an analysis from theproject management, product designing, product development and testing.Chapter2discusses the ethic problems of the sales process of sotfware product,the main problems are the unfair competition and the moderation.Chapter3turns the attention to the special sotfware—free software. Firstly, triesto ifnd the spirit of free software and make a compare with traditional ethic spirit andmodern internet spirit Secondly, an analysis of the legitimacy of free software ismade, we can ifnd that there is no problem with the legitimacy of free software.The last chapter is the conclusion of this thesis.
