Chong Qing Negotiation was a meeting with clouds and wind in1945. In this historical turn point, the World Anti-fascism War ended and the Chinese people won the great victory of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. The dawn of founding democratic county was coming. The leaders of CCP and KMT were gathered in Chong Qing to have a century negotiation about the county’s fate and destiny, in other word, they negotiate how to build a democracy and the peaceful government. Chong Qing Negotiation is not only represent seek common points while reserving difference to construct the union government between CCP and KMT, but also represent the intelligence and the power of them.The thesis contains two parts, including introduction and the main body.In the introduction, I have reviewed the research status about Chong Qing Negotiation, raise an objection of the existing research and put forward the key issue of the study. And, introduce the theory about Social Identity Theory. Introduce Henri Tajfel and his Social Identity Theory (SIT). SIT contains five parts:there are Social Identity, Social Comparison, Social Categorization, Social Identity Process, Deconstruction/Reconstruction the Identity.The main body contains four parts.First, discuss the Chong Qing Negotiation in the history. Stress the negotiation before Chong Qing Negotiation and the complicated situation of domestic and international.Second, discuss the Chong Qing Negotiation as the media event. Analyze the in-group social identity construction of CCP and the propaganda strategy of Xinhua Daily during the Chong Qing Negotiation,Third, discuss the Chong Qing Negotiation as the media event. Analyze the in-group social identity construction of KMT and the propaganda strategy of Central Daily during the Chong Qing Negotiation,Forth, discuss the Chong Qing Negotiation as the media event. Analyze the in-group social identity construction of Democratic Party and the propaganda strategy of Ta Kung Pao during the Chong Qing Negotiation,Fifth, have a summary statement for the thesis; combine the reality and the SIT for the instants society.
