A Study On The Action Of Counseling In The Relatively Communicative Group Of Light And Poor Intellectuals

Mild to moderate intellectual disabilities ages16-25years old have strong needs for interaction with the opposite sex. But lacking of proper education and guidance, they are always behaving improper in the process of interaction with the opposite sex. Through observation and interviews we can analysis the reasons of the deviant behavior. Then we can found a suitable group counseling program, which could help mild to moderate intellectual disabilities to master good heterosexual communication skills.Through the observation of intellectual disabilities and interviewing their parents and staff, the reasons including, firstly, there is a serious incompatibility with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities develop their physical and mental development. Secondly, parents can not correctly understand the needs of people with intellectual disabilities in the opposite sex. Thirdly, organization staff don’t have the professional quality. The fourth point is the proliferation of social networks, especially irritating information.Opposite-sex communication behavior group counseling program designed based on the above factors can effectively intervene and adjust with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities deviation to achieve the desired goals. In implementing group counseling programs should pay attention to the following points, firstly, group counseling guidance language to meet the level of development of people with intellectual disabilities. Secondly, group counseling should work closely with other teaching content, family education. Thirdly, means of strengthening should mainly use spirit awards and material reward in a secondary position.In order to improve the level of mild to moderate intellectual disabilities’ opposite-sex communication, there are some methods we could commence. Firstly, parents correctly understanding of reasonable needs of people with intellectual disabilities and coordinate with professional organizations. Secondly, disabled custodian agencies have to set up courses and mental health activities which associated with opposite-sex communication. Thirdly, guiding intellectual disabilities use new means of communication properly. Fourthly, attract volunteers to take parts in intellectual disabilities’ interpersonal training. Fifthly, building good community and let it play a positive role in improving intellectual disabilities’ interpersonal training.
