Help is a very common human behavior, people between individuals, collective and even between countries are ongoing with each other for help.Studies help students encounter difficulties in their studies, to the teacher or classmates for help, in order to successfully solve the problem, complete the academic activities of behavior is a unique school students seeking behavior.School students will not only encounter the most common requests for assistance will face difficult issues in the academic, academic help-seeking.Learning Disabilities in the current study is commonly used in "bad school" is defined as:a student’s intellectual level is normal, there is no sensory impairment, but their academic performance was significantly lower than the same students can not achieve the desired learning objectives.Learning Disabilities in junior high school students, as a special need to focus groups, on the characteristics of their help, many scholars have made a lot of research on the trail of these students and the characteristic of help-seeking, but does not have much empirical research how to improve the Learning Disabilities in junior high school academic help-seeking. The present study attempts to explore whether Group Counseling can improve the Academic help-seeking of students with Learning Disability in Junior high school.Method:This study selected two middle schools in Changsha City.24Learning Disability Students were selected from the first school and were randomly divided into experimental and control groups (n=12);20Learning Disability Students were selected from the secondary school and also were randomly divided into experimental group and control group (n=10).The experimental design was pre-test and post-test in the research. The academic help-seeking Attitude questionnaire and academic help-seeking behavior questionnaire were used for psychological measurement tools. The academic help-seeking Attitude questionnaire was compiled by Professor Li Xiaodong from Northeast Normal University, and the academic help-seeking behavior questionnaire was also established by her. The two scales both have high reliability and validity.The results show that:(1) Group counseling to improve the attitude of the Learning Disabilities in junior high school students academic help-seeking:Group counseling can improve the benefits of help-seeking (P<0.001), and it could reduce the cost of help-seeking (P<0.001).(2) Group counseling did not improve the executive help-seeking and avoidance of help-seeking, but the instrumental help-seeking of the two experimental groups have significantly improved (P<0.001). Conclusion:Group counseling could improve Learning Disability students’Academic help-seeking attitude and academic help-seeking behavior.
