"The presentation of sememe "is a way of word-formation in Chinese disyllable It means one implicit sememe of the ancient primary monosyllable appears and forms one new word with the primary monosyllable. The new compound word expresses the same meaning as the primary monosyllable. This article chooses one category of this kind of words which is formed by the presentation of the sememe "water" to further explore this kind of phenomenon. We use synchronic analysis and diachronic analysis to present the words’ characteristic of semantic, grammar and pragmatic. Meanwhile, we explore the evolution of the eight words and their applied regularity and features. We draw a conclusion:although these words are all presentation of the sememe "water", they have different word orders. That is, for the words of nature,"water" is usually located in the back. For the words of function and shape," water" is located in front. Through diachronic study of8words, it proves the inner regularity of the location of "water", makes the presentation of "water" clear and reveals the phenomenon that the primary monosyllables are more used as word formation morphemes in modern Chinese language. In the end, based on the regularity of water’s location, this article stresses on teaching Chinese as a foreign language, presents some teaching suggestions on these words.
