The paper is about some problems I have found through the solfeggio teachingpractice during the post-graduate study and what I have learned from it. Theintroduction gives a brief account of the concept of solfeggio and the purpose ofcurriculum settings. The first part introduces the details of college solfeggio teaching, the history and the present situation of it. It also presents the deficiencies in someaspects of the subject. The second part is about my thoughts two problems I havefound when teaching. One is the disadvantage of large class solfeggio teaching. Myanalysis shows why large class teaching is not suitable for solfeggio, based on thedifferent majors, individual differences and the features of the subject. The otherproblem is the students’ negative mood showed in class. I give a description of it andanalyze the reasons by means of conversation and surveys. In the third part, I brieflydescribe some problems that are easily neglected through teaching practice. The firstone is that students often neglect to beat time. I make an analysis of the importance ofbeating time in sight singing and how to lead the students to get into the good habit ofbeating time. The second problem is, in ear training, the neglect of artistic practice, that is, the separation from the real musical pieces. Here I introduce the importance ofartistic practice and how I apply it in teaching. The third problem is the lack of subjectpermeation. For this problem, I make a brief introduction of the significance ofsubject permeation and how to have good permeation between this subject and othersaccording to specific examples. The fourth part concerns which solmization should beused to teach. I present some types and features of auditory sense and then I putforward my viewpoint that we should tolerate the students’ differences in auditorysense and that we shouldn’t force students to change solmization. The fifth part refersto the solfeggio teaching in foreign teaching system. The purpose is to accept thegood of other countries and optimize the solfeggio teaching in our country by learningforeign ideas and methods in solfeggio teaching.
