At the turn of the century,along with the end of Arts and Craft Movement,the worldcentrality of British design gradually replaced by France,Italy,Germany and other countrieswhich is newcomer,and turned toward to the edge.At this time,in the face of the rapiddevelopment of other countries in art and design,as well as the local conservativepause,British artist and aesthetic critic Roger fry set up the the Omega Workshops in theFitzroy Square,in order to explore the practical value of the avant-grade art like futureImpressionist,as well as improving the living conditions of young artists.This workshop which is relay on the Pioneer cultural group of Bloomsbury has asignificant impact on Britain and Europe and other countries in the development of art anddesign.This thesis centers on the Omega Workshops,starting from combing andanalyzing its development and achievement,to reveal how the British Avant-grade artistssuch as Roger fry, Duncan grant, Vanessa Bell as a small niche art groups’member,tointroduce France,Austria and other countries’s modernism aesthetics ideology,itspropagation and the development models into inland, additionally,how they impact oncultural ideological trend,artistic ideology at home and abroad through the practice form ofArt "crossover" Design.On the basis of these study,then further explore the importantsignificance of artists studio to today’s design development from the artifacts level,systemlevel and spiritual level.
