In1930s, there was a turn(from Heidegger I to Heidegger Ⅱ) in Heidegger’s thought. In the so called Heidegger Ⅱ, Heidegger stopped gaining the meaning of being by thinking Dasein, and began to find an new way, called "non-objective thinking an language", to continue his philosophical thinking. It was from studying Holderlin’s poetry that Heidegger gained such a kind of "non-objective thinking an language". In Heidegger’s view, the reason why he studied Holderlin’s poetry was that Holderlin’s poetry spoke out "what poetry is", meanwhile, Holderlin’s poetry also poetized the essence of poetry. But above all, Holderlin’s poetry had entered the deep field of truth of beings which is the main subject of Heidegger’s thought.In1930s, Heidegger turned his steps to art and poetry without the intension of making some critics relating to art or aesthetics. According to Heidegger, that was an necessity of his thought. So the inspiration gotten from Holderlin was critical for Heidegger. To some extent, the study on Holderlin’s poetry was an important step in constructing the thought of Heidegger Ⅱ. On this point, Heidegger said, his thought had an essential connection to Holderlin’s poetry.Although Holderlin was well known as a famous writer(poet), in the perspective of readers and scholars. But Holderlin is very different in Heidegger’s thought and he has given us another portrait of Holderlin as well. This dissertation will pay much attention to the encounter of Heidegger and Holderlin on poetry. My purpose is to study the essential connection between Holderlin’s poetry and Heidegger’s thinking, then to know more about the thought of Heidegger Ⅱ.My dissertation includes three prats:Part one is about Holderlin’s thought which is known little to most researchers. This part consists of main points:Holderlin as a traditional philosopher and as a true thinker with regard to Heidegger. In this part, I will explain Holderlin’s conversion to the field of human nature and freedom. That is critical for Heidegger’s thinking.Part two is about Heidegger’s interpretation of Holderlin’s poetry. In this part, I focus on the research of the premise of Heidegger’s interpretation. First, I make a specific description of Heidegger’s being and truth, because "truth of being" is the fundamental joint of Holderlin’s poetry and Heidegger’s thought. It was from this joint that Heidegger found the relationship between him and Holderlin.Part three is my thinking after the study of Heidegger’s interpretation of Holderlin’s poetry. By studying the essential connection between Holderlin’s poetry and Heidegger’s thinking, I explore further into the thinking of Heidegger Ⅱ. In Heidegger Ⅱ, with the inspiration from Holderlin, Heidegger showed us the destiny of being, because Holderlin’s poetry is the destiny itself; showed us poverty time, because Holderlin is the real poet of poverty time; showed us the new beginning of the history of being, because Holderlin has entered upon the history of being, waiting for the coming of gods.
