Research On The Positivistic Methodology In Psychology

The positivistic methodology is one of the main methodologies in the field of psychology in the 20 th century.As a highly influential methodology in the 20 th century,positivism has penetrated into all aspects of modern psychology and has had a very important impact on its development.However,due to its inherent limitations,the research of psychology has fallen into a dilemma and has received many criticisms.At the same time,psychologists have explored the ways out of the positivistic methodology from its own predicament from different perspectives,and now the integrated research is regarded as the developmental trend of the psychological methodology,and it is also an effective solution for the positivistic methodology to come out of its predicament.This thesis consists of six parts: the introduction,the origin of positivistic methodology in psychology,the connotation and model of positivistic methodology in psychology,the advantages and dilemmas of psychological positivist methodology,the criticisms directed against positivistic methodology in psychology,the Developmental Trend of positivistic methodology in psychology : the psychological methodology towards integration.The introduction make a brief overview about the background,purpose,significance of this thesis,the current status of the relevant research both at home and abroad,the research method and innovation so as to illustract the necessity of research on positivistic methodology in psychology.The first chapter mainly investigates the background of philosophy,science,and psychology of positivistic methodology in psychology.The second chapter mainly discuss the connotations and modes of positivistic methodology in psychology.It shows the impact of positivistic research in psychology,and also lays the theoretical foundation for the analysis of its advantages and dilemmas in the next chapter.The third chapter analyzes the advantages and dilemmas of positivistic methodology in psychological.The fourth chapter discusses the critiques which were directed against positivistic methodology in psychology from multiple levels based on the perspectives of phenomenological methodology and postmodernist methodology.The fifth chapter mainly explore the integrated trend of positivistic methodology in psychology in the future.First,we explore some existing integrated approaches,and then discourse the possibility of integration of psychological methodology from the perspective of contextualism.
