All along, academia traditionally divided regional dialects by voice-based. However, thereare numerous deficiencies in this division standard. Many phenomena such as the same voice butin different areas could not be explained. As people’s focus on the study of vocabulary, thetheory of dialect’s feature words was proposed in Xu Baohua’s Strengthening Chinese dialect’svocabulary study. Then Mr. Li Rulong systematically discussed this theory and visioned: put onthe vocabulary-based as one standard of dialect’s area. With the increasing emphasis on dialect’sculture, dialect programs are flourishing day by day. However, due to the confine of form, theanalysis of words were too superficial. Thus, further studies by using tools book are particularlynecessary for the words. Predicates, including verbs and adjectives, that can best reflects thepeople’s movement behavior and state of mind and so on. Therefore, the study of the predicatefeature words can better highlight the characteristics of dialect words, so as to further the studyof dialect words. In view of the above factors, opposed to the Mandarin words, the author analyzed thecharacteristic predicates of Shandong dialect verb’s structure and semantic. In addition, theauthor also explored the characteristics from rationale and pragmatic. Points are as follows:Compared with Mandarin, it has more two-syllable words and multi-syllable words. At the sametime, their usage frequency is more highly. Through overlap to construct the word form is themain method, it’s different with the corresponding Mandarin word obviously. The rationale ofstructure often presented as tortuous form: Most words based on the sound and meaning areonomatopoeia, most words based on the syntagmatic are intuition, and the words based on theculture are profound. In some pragmatic purpose conditions, the select words are very different. They are extremely vivid about the rhetorical and emotional effect.
