Tang is the peak of the art of poetry and music arts. During this period, a large number of excellent works of poetry were produced, while all kinds of instrumental music went through considerable developments. The poetic art of music was given full expression to, thus the music of the Tang Dynasty poem was born. Chinese zither music poem, which was born in Liang Chen era, is also an important subclass of music poem. On the basis of Liang Chen era, poet of Tang Dynasty created distinctive poetry of Chinese zither, which is of great value. The author found fifty-one poetries of Chinese zither from Complete Poetry of the Tang and Full Tang supplement, then researched on them with knowledge of literature and music. First, by carding the phylogeny of Chinese zither, the author summarized its features in Tang Dynasty; Second, the author studied the literature about Chinese zither before the Tang Dynasty and came to the conclusion that poetry and rhapsody about Chinese zither pay much attention to the vivid depiction of the characteristics of the instrument itself but little to the musical depiction; third, the author made a close research on several famous songs to find the creative reasons of them, which can help us better understand the poems. Then the author officially entered the analysis of the poem about Chinese zither of the Tang Dynasty, researching from the ideological content and artistic form of poetry. In terms of ideological content, the study subjects were divided into two kinds:describe objects, including musical instruments and music; express feelings. Including love, parting and other emotions. And in terms of art form, music performance and shaping of the characters will be expounded. As to music performance, on the basis of elaborating on the music aesthetic tendency of people in Tang Dynasty and the reasons why Chinese zither became popular, the author summed up that poets used imagery to describe the music and the feelings of the audience. As to the shaping of the characters, by analyzing the image of women and performers in the poem, the author will conclude four important techniques:tracing appearance, action description, psychological description and experience narrative. These four techniques, using alone or in combination, make great contribution to figuring the roles. The author will also discuss these four techniques in detail with specific poetry. Then author will compare other stringed instrument poetry with zither poetry in terms of content and imagery using to find their similarities and differences. Last but not least, the author will also try to discuss the spread and impact of the Chinese zither poetry of Tang Dynasty, mainly discussing the impact on the similar works of poetry of the Five Dynasties and Song Dynasty. In short, the Chinese zither poetry is a good part of the music poetry of Tang Dynasty, which is worthy of study. |
