Lonely Disillusionment

This paper is in research of orchestral work "Orion" by Finnish contemporary composer Kaija Saariaho. Through the analysis on the composing skills such as organization of pitch, tone color, orchestration and structure, we can elaborate the dimension and unique style of the music, and understand the composite creative perspective in diversified background.Kaija Saariaho is a female composer who began to gain attention since1980s. Her music see influence of Impressionism, Serialism, Spectrum, and other music genres. She attaches great importance to tone color, and concerns about the quality and effects of the sound, to keep the unique charm in the complex world of sound of contemporary music.This paper consists of three parts:The first part is the introduction, introducing the life and works.The second part includes three chapters, respectively talking about the creating background and composing skills of "Orion"(including pitch, tone color, orchestration and structure) and creative dimension of Kaija Saariaho.The third part is the conclusion of Kaija Saariaho’s composing skills and style, exploring the enlightenment of multi-culture on creative thinking and composing skills.
