This article will explore the musical language of the Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho(1952-)with harmonic technique in the 20th century as the starting point.The main content of the paper is divided into five parts:the introduction is the first part.In the introduction,the author will mainly elaborate the research status quo of Kaija Saariaho of scholars at inland and abroad,introduce the composer's life and creative experience;I will also introduce and organize the writer's research ideas and methods.The body contains three chapters.The first chapter will use pitch organization technology analyze and study,and then sum up characteristics and creative techniques of the works of Saariaho such as central consonance,tonic train,central interval technology and other contents to understand the way of thinking and aesthetic pursuit of composer in the production process.The second chapter will analyze the works of Saariaho,such as static harmony,island harmony and harmony field with the new concept of harmony which appeared in the 20th century to explore the possibility of new harmonic thinking in his creation.In the third chapter,the author will analyze the first movement of Saariaho's oratorio La Passion de Simone and combine it with the theoretical points summarized in the previous chapters.The last part is the conclusion.In this part,the author will make a summary of the composer's characteristics of creative thinking and the use of harmonic techniques.Thus,Saariaho' s unique musical language can be explored.
