Research And Teaching Practice Of Undergraduate Design Management Course In Nanjing Art Institute

Design Management is not a brand new idea in the art design courses. It has been fifty yearssince the first definition of ‘Design Management’ by England designer in1965. The idea hasbeen enriched and developed in these years, which has got some research achievements.However, the teaching of Design Management, especially undergraduate Design Managementcourses are not abundant in the findings and experiences. The paper gives a consideration on theundergraduate Design Management courses setting of Design College, NUA on summarizing theDesign Management theoretical achievements at home and abroad, investigating undergraduateDesign Management courses setting and teaching in Chinese colleges, and interviews with theresearchers and design practitioners. As a student studying Design Management both inundergraduate and postgraduate, I try considering the Design Management course conspectusthat is suitable to the present course system (NUA, Design College) from my personal learningexperience, survey and teaching practice.
