Drama industry is not only a popularized entertainment product, or leisure stock, but it is rather a cultural product that has very high value added. On the cultural industry’s view, it could even be an important indicator which decides such country’s international influence. Korean TV dramas succeed the best out of all the world’s recent soap operas, and the production of Chinese TV series has stepped into its development period as well. Because Korea and China stays in the same cultural area, the research of both nations’ TV drama production can be a good model for each other.As drama gets more and more commercialized and marketized everyday and the audiences being more diversified, a change has appeared in the production system. A lot of dram production companies give attention on the audiences who are gradually diversified to receive commercial profit, and the drama production company and broadcasting system are suggesting professional marketing strategy based on their wide-spread audiences.This research analyzes Korean TV drama’s independent marketing strategy and its effect from the sight of audience strategy, compares it with Chinese TV drama industry, finds the difference between two countries’ marketing strategy of soap opera industry and the position of "audience" in the drama production, and gives opinion to be helpful on the future development of both nations’ TV dramas.
