The paper carried out a research on the cognitive of Chinese character’s components of the Chinese learners from Europe and the USA. We wanted to find an effective way of components teaching method to teach Chinese characters. In this paper, we mainly verified the following three hypotheses by issuing questionnaires randomly:First of all, the stronger cognitive ability of component’s meaning, the stronger written ability that the students have; secondly, the stronger cognitive ability of components’splitting and combination, the stronger written ability that the students have; thirdly, the stronger cognitive ability of components’ structures, the stronger written ability that the students have. In order to verify those hypotheses, we made an investigation which involved Independent variable and dependent variable. According to the results of the investigation, we found out that the "the cognitive of components’ meaning"(especially "the cognitive of character formation component")"the cognitive of component combination" had great influence on students’"sentence writing ability" and "essay writing ability". Then we suggested that we pay attention to three teaching principles:Emphasizing the meaning of component; improving learners’ ability to combine characters with components; indicating the change of components and characters. There are five chapters in this paper:Chapter Ⅰ:We briefly introduce the whole paper by explaining the target, scope, purpose, method and experimental steps of the research.Chapter Ⅱ:We summarize the previous researches on Chinese character’s components, cognitive and acquisition of Chinese character’s components and components teaching method for characters teaching.Chapter Ⅲ:We investigate the connection between the students’ cognitive of Chinese character’s components attributes and the ability of characters writing by questionnaire survey.Chapter Ⅳ:According to the results, we provide information for the teachers to improve teaching efficiency to help the character’s learners.to study characters.Chapter Ⅴ:We point out the deficiency of this research on the basis of summarizing the full text and put forward the suggestions for further research.
