In the Kokang of Burma live a great number of ethnic Chinese, with thedevelopment of the Chinese international education all over the world, the status ofChinese education and the status of using the language by the ethnic Chinese who arelive in there become a topic worthy of investigation. In the light of thesecircumstances, the author has carried out the systematic research.The author visited dozens of villages and more than ten Chinese schools andcarried out a survey in the Kokang of Burma. Through interviewing the teachers ofthe Chinese schools, the students and the ethnic Chinese villagers who live in theKokang of Burma, and filling out the questionnaire, the author collect really vividdata of the status of using language. The result of analysis are based on the data.This paper consists six parts: The first chapter is the inroduction, the secondchapter is the general situation of the Kokang of Burma,the third chapter is thesituation of the ethnic Chinese in the Kokang of Burma, the forth chapter is thesituation and the cause of using Chinese and Burmese, the fifth chapter is thecorresponding developmented strategies of international Chinese education in theKokang region. the sixth chapter is the conclusion. The sixth chapter is theconclusion.The purpose of this study is to understand the Chinese usage status in Kokangand the situation of local Chinese education based on the field-survey methods. Theresult shows a combination of the ethnic Chinese and Burmese has raised, but theproficiency of Chinese the young ethnic Chinese remains unchanged. The localChinese education faces the problem of the teachers shortage, uneven teaching level,the lack of investment in education. The author hopes that this thesis can truly reflectthe status of the local Chinese education and language usage, so that more people willbe concerned about Kokang, and further prompt the Chinese education in the Kokangto a higher level of development in a right way.
