Nepal's education begins with English language education.Therefore,Nepal's language policy is directly related to foreign language education.Historically,Nepal has close contacts with India and England and Nepal's language has been influence by their language.There was also a certain cultural exchange with China,and also get contacted with Chinese language but those contacts were far less than Indian language and English.Along with the development of China's economy,Chinese language started to play an increasingly important role in international exchanges.The importance of Chinese language for cultural exchanges between two countries is also increasing day by day.Thus,the growth of Chinese teaching has increase from zero to advanced level,its a huge change.That's why Nepal government creates a language policy to adjust Nepal's foreign language to accommodate Nepal's booming Chinese education.In this context,this paper studies and discusses the current situation of Nepal's language policy and Chinese education,In this view,the paper makes a great contribution.The main contents of this article is as follow:This paper has 4 chapters,In which the first chapter is the introduction part.This part mainly explains the reason and significance of the topic selection,related previous research,predecessors and the innovation.The second chapter discusses Nepal's language policy and foreign language policy including the situation of several major foreign languages.The third chapter is mainly about Chinese language which begins with the Confucius Institute,the Confucius classrooms,Tribhuwan University College of Worlds Language College,Language and Cultural Department of Chinese Embassy,??and other institutions that are related to Chinese education in Nepal.The fourth chapter analyzes the current situation of Chinese education in primary andsecondary schools,universities and other language training institutions from different perspectives as :teachers,curriculum,teaching materials and teaching methods,and analyzes the manifestation of Nepalese language education policy in the status in Nepal.At last,this research explains about problems of Chinese language education in Nepal and put them forward from the aspects of Chinese education scale and quality,Chinese teachers allocation and demand,teaching equipment and management,and give corresponding countermeasures and some suggestion for its improvement.
