Executive function is a complex cognitive processing, where individualitycoordinates multiple cognitive systems through dynamic and flexible methods. As animportant cognitive element, executive function may make big difference oncreativity. Comparing with undergraduates, this paper would try to explore thecharacteristics of elders’ executive function and creativity, and probe into therelationship between each other. Choosing elders’ under75and undergraduates andcomparing with the condition of undergraduates, the research discuss the relationshipbetween executive function and creativity to elders, after conducting experiment (3classic executive function experiment) and granting Williams Creativity TestQuestionnaire.It obtains conclusion below after experiment, test, data analyzing anddiscussion.1、the executive function of the elderly in terms of gender no significantdifferences in the attention of older persons of different cultural level conversion andsuppression were no significant differences, but the in memory records here, have auniversity degree older than high school, college and the college diploma older higher,and the difference is significant. Compared with the executive function of collegestudents, the elderly group and college group differences in executive function, andeach sub-component is very significant, college students each executive functionability is higher than the elderly, the executive function of the elderly with increasingage and decreased executive function showed a development.2、the characteristics of the elderly creativity were no significant differencesin terms of gender, and the creativity of the cultural level of the elderly were nosignificant differences, but different dimension of imagination, a college diploma anda high school diploma score of the elderly. Compared with college students, theelderly, creativity score nowhere near as college students, and the difference wassignificant, indicating that the creativity of the elderly are grow older, changes inbodily functions showed a development, through this must development process. 3、the attention of the three sub-components of the executive functions in theelderly conversion, memory refresh and inhibit the creativity related, respectively,significantly, in which the memory refresh and creativity and most closely, the highestcorrelation coefficient. Students’ Executive Function and creative relationship, onlypay attention to conversion and creativity related to significant suppression andmemory refresh and creativity was not significantly correlated. Compared withcollege students memory of older persons more affect executive function, payattention to conversion creativity obvious.According to the research results, the researcher puts up with some suggestionabout creativity protection from the perspective of executive function, includingstrengthening memory intensified training, raising memory refreshing ability toprotect elders’ creativity, doing more tasks transition exercise, which has the samefunction.
