With the background of economic globalization and culture reactivation, Chinabecomes a most developing country with the development of economy andimprovement of social status. More and more foreigners begin to study Chinese. Oldwords can’t meet needs of people’s increasing cultural communication because ofdevelopment and frequent foreign communication. So many new words occurred.These new words rich people’s vision and improve and enrich the Chinese words’system. Some new words reflect social hot issues. They become a mirror of thesociety, which have a distinctive character of the times. New words are related to thedevelopment of Chinese culture and change of ecological environment. New featuresoccur in new words’ formation with a lot of characters of new culture. New wordsfrom concept to word formation methods have emerged some new features, somenew influences. Therefore, in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, focusing on theteaching of new words and their word-building is particularly important.This essay uses the new words in New Word’s Dictionary (2005---2010) and newwords from2011to2012as the research objects. This essay collects and analyses2000words’ formation from2005to2012and analyze their formation which arerelated to the Chinese culture. Combination of word formation, Methods of TeachingChinese and Chinese culture phenomenon focus on analysis of the Formation andfeatures of2005-2012words. And a new word in the teaching Chinese as a foreignlanguage teaching should focus on methods to promote exchanges and the use ofChinese New Words has a certain practical significance. This essay includes threechapters. The purpose, significance, status and the methods of the study arediscoursed in Chapter one. In chapter two, I count and analyze new words from2005to2012by the way of word formation systematically and intuitively and certainly. Iinvestigate how to use word formation to teaching Chinese as a Foreign Languagewith the help of methods of teaching Chinese and Chinese culture and pay attention tocultural information in new words in chapter three. The final aim is how to learnChinese deeply, how to use Chinese lively and promote Chinese widely.
