With the growing of China’s comprehensive strength, more and more foreigners come into here live and study, which makes leaning Chinese become a vital part when their have to adapt Chinese environment. This reality has promoted the development of Chinese International Education, and the contradiction between high requirements of learners and Chinese International Education has become more apparent. Obviously, the lack of vocabulary will resist a learner to further his study when he has systematic and profound understanding of Chinese and in an advanced stage. Then how to enable the learners to break through this barrier, so that they can expand vocabulary as well as help them to get better adaptation in Chinese language environment? This is a significant issue, and a number of scholars are working on this.From the view of word formation, a morpheme through some combination of rules and other combination of morphemes to form new word is not only a breakthrough for many scholars in vocabulary teaching but also the direction of my research. Since the word has such a law, we can expand vocabulary in this way.“Hand” is important for us. Using hands product tools and realize continuing work, which made us created a splendid civilization. Life is inseparable from hands, and this phenomenon reflected in language is the use of Morpheme “hand” through different combination rules and cognitive metaphor created a large number of “hand” word family(Those words are closely linked with life of high-frequency words).Started from the formation of “hand” family words as an example, this essay try to explore the possibility of using word family to help students focus on learning “hand” family words and expand vocabulary in a effective way, which can enhance the level of vocabulary teaching method.Despite of previous scholars have attempted to put the word family into vocabulary teaching in teaching Chinese as a second language, plus have did lots of research in word family. However, they ignored the truly importance of error analysis and process of instructional design. When it comes to me, I plan to not only learned from the previous outstanding achievements but also made a more comprehensive error analysis in “hand” family words and designed a course of “hand” family words. Plus I hope it could be a contribution to this area.In this paper, the research follows four chapters based in the current situation:The first chapter described the background and significance of the paper, current research, methods and expected sources and scope of the study. Finishing the part of the "hand" family words and existing achievements of vocabulary teaching and to draw them excellent components, pointing out deficiencies, on this basis, the author concludes the paper orientation and innovation.The second chapter discussed usage of the Chinese "hand" family words. First, counted the statistics of common terms used in modern Chinese “hand” family words situation by using “Contemporary Chinese Corpus at Peking University”, and then did foreign students usage of frequency analysis and error analysis in “hand” family words by using “HSK dynamic composition corpus”.The third chapter analyzed the Chinese “hand” family words. First, word formation analysis, divided into three parts of words(“Hand + X" "X + hands"), idioms(location, structure mode) and three phrases, and then, metaphorical cognitive structure analysis, divided into three parts of sub-specific projection, abstract projection, the positional projection.The fourth chapter has designed a structure for Chinese “hand” family words in teaching Chinese as a second language. Described the teaching subject, the nature of curriculum, teaching content, teaching objectives, teaching methods and procedures combined with the main results of the former three parts.Finally, made a summary at the conclusion of the paper and presents the deficiencies.
