A Study On The Insertion Of Numbers In Verb - Type Clutch Words

As we all know,The verb-object Lihe words can be inserted into various components(such as the number of phrases,the dynamic auxiliary,the complement of result)is Chinese.But they are directly inserted into the numeral(for example“chao yi jia(吵一架)”,“shui yi jiao(睡一觉)”,“chi le yi jing(吃了一惊)”)is still lack of sufficient research.Many important facts are not known.For example,which verb-object Lihe words can be inserted into the numeral,what can not?what numbers can be inserted in?In Modern Chinese,we often use the number of phrases to experss number sense,how do the verb-object Lihe words which only inserted into the numeral to experss the meaning of number and amount?Why can only use numeral to express the meaning of number?And what are the conditions?How to deal with this phenomenon in teaching Chinese as a second language?These problems show that The verb-object Lihe words inserted into the numeral is an important fact of Chinese grammar,has the important theory and practical significance.So this paper attempts to based on large scale corpus analysis,through the rational analysis to answer these questions.This paper takes 184 pieces of verb-object Lihe words as the research object, taking the extension of the four modes of “V(le) yi O”, “V(le) liang O”, “V(le) san\si ……O”,“V(le) ji O”, and we investigate the use of them in the BCC corpus of Beijing Language and Culture University, CCL corpus of Peking University and Baidu search engine, according to search results and the judgment of the sense of language, it can be divided into well sense of language, grudging acceptance and unable to accept. To solve the problem of which verb-object Lihe words can be inserted into numerals directly and which numbers can be inserted in.The research shows, the pieces of verb-object Lihe words that can be inserted into “yi” takes the most part, account for about one-third, but that can be inserted into “liang”, “san\si…”,“ji” account for about one-sixth, and entry by the same, all of them are involved in the range of inserting into “yi”. Meanwhile, after inserting into “le”,entries increases, and limit become boarder.In modern Chinese, numerals and quantifiers are usually used in combination to express semantic, so “V(le) shu O”is an expression that we can accept easily. So what is the meaning of“V(le) shu O”? According to the research, in fact, “V(le) shu O”also expresses the meaning of “V(le) shu O”, in the aspect of the dimension type amount, it expresses the number in major, a small part of can express volume. However, the result of the type of “V(le) number O’ can be accepted by people, we can understand in the way that it comes into existence because of construction coercion, that is, in the form of suppressed for the type of ‘V(le) shu liang ”. In addition, we can also understand that implying predicate the quantifier components of “V(le)shu O”. In the aspect of the size of dimension, it expresses in the actual situation of the meaning, this is mainly influenced by the factors of inserting into different numerals and verb-object Lihe words themselves, “yi”, “liang”, “ji”usually used to empty reference in modern Chinese, the degree of “no bounding” verb-object Lihe words that can be limited in numbers is low, it is limited while inserting numerals, it is the implicit meaning generally.So, what are the conditions of establishment of inserting numerals into verb-object Lihe words? According to the analysis found that the mainly numerals component of “V(le) shu O”are the numerals that express small numerical, and most of them can express virtual dimension. However, verb-object Lihe words can be numerous, and can be used in relaxing communication occasions. When “O” in the verb-object Lihe words can be specific material nouns, or as borrowing quantifiers, this verb-object Lihe words can be inserted into numerals, meanwhile, whether exists “le”, the overall rhythm combination and the conditions of context also partly affect the acceptance.In the light of the situation of inserting numerals into verb-object Lihe words in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, we find that there is still exists a big problem that students unable to use and hardly understand the meaning it expresses. In the process of teaching, the verb-object Lihe words after inserting numerals whose acceptance are high should be involved in the content of teaching. Meanwhile, we should not weaken the explanation about rules in the process of teaching entries. Pay attention to the reasonable supplement of textbooks, and teach from shallower to the deeper. Teaching in stage, strengthening practices at the same time, training students’ shaping the sense of language.
