According to two-dimension technology, Marcuse criticizes the developed society of west and attempt to transform the one-dimension technology of developed society into two-dimension technology. We attempt to, in this article, discuss Marcuse’s two-dimension technological thoughts,that is instrumental and humanistic dimension, by look back upon the word of technology.The alienation social shows in three aspects, that is political, culture and language. This a internal logic contained in <one-dimensional man> which is Marcuse’s book. Actually, when we analysis it, we will find that all the three aspects must be attribute to technology. Marcuse is Martin Heidegger’s student, so his thoughts must be influenced by Heidegger’s technological thoughts. Then, we will show the relationship between Martin Heidegger’s technological thoughts and Marcuse’s technological thoughts. Ancient Greek philosophical thought which is western philosophy’s source, it’s thought about technology must influence Marcuse’s thought of technology. Nowadays, new technology put into every aspect of our life, continually, it facilitates our social andliving standard. However, we can’t use it without any inspect.How to realize new technology? Marcuse had some tries. But he didn’t give out concrete measures and result in Utopian. We think, in our age, if we want to realize new technology we need to back to real man, do as ecological man and achieve human’s liberty and comprehensive development.
