Left - Wing Writers' Progressive Thought

"Progressive Ideas of the Leftists’Writers’League—Research Mainly of Lu Xun"is given priority to with Lu Xun’s research of Lu Xun in the progressive ideas of Leftists’Writers’League. The "May 4th" Literature ideological trend and left-wing Literature ideological trend are two important periods of development in the history of Chinese modern literature, the latter was derived form the former, but made some changes in former’s value target and ideology selective behavior. Researches believe that China was not a literary country in the 20th century because Chinese literature wasn’t been treated as an independent field, so it didn’t get sufficient development at all. It was verified by the Chinese left-wing literature ideological trend, which was enveloped by politic and revolution. The Chinese left-wing literature’s basic tendency was affected and constrained by the politicized trend. It holds the dominant position in 20th century for a very long time, affected Chinese literature in both positive and negative aspects, even affected the development of intellectual history.Lu xun and left-wing literature——the two topics are so closely associated,so if we want to talk about one of them, we need to take a very in-depth research to another one,and both of them are closely concerned by the modern Chinese literature study circle. Besides, the representative and witness in the Chinese left-wing literature movement is Lu xun, the relationship between him and left-wing literature was entangled in the history of modern Chinese literature, even the history of modern Chinese culture or the China’s modern history. We can discover a lot of thought-provoking literature phenomena which are significant in the historical, cultural and political side by the study of their complex relationship, and brings so many questions for us, and brings a historical reference to the humanistic value of social construction at the same time.In the 1920s’and 1930’s, Lu xun was attacked fiercely by the members of the Creative Society and the Taiyang Society and been rejected by the members of left-wing federation after he became the leader of the organization, but his mind was always independent and vigilant. Lu xun is not only the soul of the left-wing literature, his existence was also the flag of the left-wing culture. But his acumen and advancement made him very lonely, his uniqueness and complexity was highlighted in the literature’s integration process’s extremely sanctification.This essay is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is introduction, which mainly introduces the background and significance of the topic, the domestic research status today, the research ideas and methods of this article, and the definition of those concepts which associated with the topic. The text part is divided into three chapters:chapter two mainly discusses the relationship between lu xun and left-wing writers alliance. We all know that Lu xun didn’t want to be a tool to any political party, he kept his independent personality and exquisite insight and gave analysis and reflections to the literature, which promotes the trend living healthy and push it to a new high in the end. We can see it from his works easily. Chapter three is the content of Lu xun’s idea of progress. It consists three parts.1. He dared to oppose autocracy, and working on the national liberation;2.From individuals to the collective, from enlightenment to revolution;3.Think about the culture more deeply. Chapter four mainly talks about the historical significance and limitations of his thought. We can see from his works which he wrote joined the left-w federation, that Lu xun’s thought was getting deep day after day, it came from the traditional culture, but able to reflect the modern ideologies, and deeply analyzes the intellectuals’ states of mind, and keep finding the rational factors. The fifth chapter is conclusion, which gives a brief summary and analysis of the article.The purpose of this paper is to dig those ideas of progress in the ideological trend,trying to clarify the fact that the left-wing alliance(which represent by Lu xun)’s ideas of progress have great significance to the literature’s guidance and personality’s education in the commercialized, blundering culture atmosphere, and then we can understand the significance more comprehensively.
