Many graduates tend to be anxiety when facing the employment issues in today’s increasingly competitive society. As we all know, it’s the turning point for high school students to choose the major and university. If having a specific job target or interests and prepare it early, they will lay a solid foundation for the future career.This research tries to study the effect of temporal perspective and achievement motives on career maturity if there is an intermediary role of the effect of temporal perspective on career maturity. Thus providing advises to high school students on career planning.This research use The Achievement Motives Scale, Time Perspective Inventory and Career Maturity Inventory. Shanghai extracted nearly 500 high school students from four high school, were investigated. the effective rate was 81.97%. The results indicate that:(1) Different gender high school students exist significant differences in futuretemporal dimension and past-positive dimension, initiative dimension of careermaturity. There is no significant difference in achievement motives.(2) Different school type exist significant differences in each dimension oftemporal perspective, also in each dimension of career maturity, but there is nosignificant difference in achievement motives.(3) Each dimension in temporal perspective and achievement motives has asignificant correlation with career maturity.(4) Achievement motive is a partial mediator between the relati-on of temporalperspective(past-negative dimension, future dimension, present-fatalisticdimension)and career maturity. The model’s goodness of fit index is fairly good.
