"Bridge" - From The Series Of "Okura Bridge" Series To Talk About The Experience Of Clouds And Paintings In Sketch And Reconstruction

Mo Shilong and Dong Qichang, who successively came up with the idea about “ North and South(Nan Bei) Zong”, made the great contribution to Chinese painting. It was Mo Shilong who first brought up the theory that considered the talented painter should paint the artistic mood instead of the image. So, the theory emphasized the mood and concept behind the painting and picture presented naturally. With developing Mo’s theory, Dong Qichang promoted “South Zong”( Nan Zong), which highlighted likeness in spirit and special features.In my work “ Da Chang Bridge”, I want to reveal my true feeling that essentially it is a kind of strong attachment to my hometown. So, what the beauty to the shape seen from the bridge in different scenes is what displaying to vagueness. We can understand that wandering and gathering cross over the long history.Every time, I feel incredibly fresh when I stare at my work. It is the blending of freshness and familiarity that sparks to draw the picture. That is “artistic concept” as my first creation notion, which makes my picture base on the image and nature. Therefore, the style of my oil-painting is close to Chinese landscape “concept “ and “image” and it is also my own feature in the painting.
