Ensuring the completeness of information is a very essential task for the interpreters and also one of the important standards to evaluate the performance of the interpreting. However, there are many reasons for information loss. Only by continuously learning and practicing can interpreters get improvement on this aspect. This paper aims at analyzing the reasons leading to this problem from subjective and objective perspectives. The subjective reasons include: the linguistic incompetence of interpreters and the intentional psychological state of the interpreters. While the objective reasons leading to the information loss include: speaker’s intonation and pronunciation, the intensiveness of information in the original languages, the noisy working environment, the illogical way of expressing and the cultural differences between languages.This paper will also propose the corespondent strategies to cope with the problem of information loss: long-term strategies and short-term strategies. By taking long-term strategies, interpreters should cultivate the ability of linguistic knowledge and abundant knowledge. The short-term strategies refer to: the preparation for the meeting, the syntactic linearity, effective prediction and message integration. Interpreters could improve their competence in simultaneous interpreting by applying the coping strategies of information loss.
