| The selection of the unit of translation plays a critical role to aid the interpreter presenting the information and meaning in the process of interpreting. Combining technology and entertainment, high-tech product launches differs from traditional product launches and brings new challenges for simultaneous interpreters. Many new technology brands are brought in the high-tech product launches and the speech is relatively colloquial. Based on the recording of Apple Corp iphone6 conference and the WWDC 2014 conference as the example, the thesis discusses the interpreting skills of the translation unit in the practice of English Chinese interpretation. For the translation needs are growing more and more on high-tech product launches, it is hoped that this case study would provide reference for the simultaneous interpreting for high-tech product launches. |
