The historical cultural text, which is aimed at comprehensively introducing and transmitting the history and culture of a country or region to the public, has its special writing style and is required to be read and understood easily. The material of this English-Chinese translation practice comes from the Heritage of Chinese Civilization, which briefly introduces the history and culture of modern China. It has its own distinct features in terms of vocabulary and syntactic structure. This report first introduces the task description and task process of translation, followed by the case analysis of the translation material. Examples of the points that are difficult to translate are selected in the report, as well as some solutions, such as some approaches to translation, used by the author to solve the difficult points when translating the material. The author hopes that the case analysis and what the author has learned from the translation practice will serve as a reference for the translation practices so as to improve the translation quality in this field.
