| Industrial realtions has always been a hot social issue.Methods to deal with this issue are varied,there are both differences and similarities due to the different cultural backgrounds among countries.This original text was chosen from a management text Despotism on Demand: How Power Operates in the Flexible Workplace that wrote by an English sociologist Alex J.Wood.This paper takes the first chapter as translation text.The first part of this book takes Partnership Co in the UK as an example to introduce the“internal state” regime implemented by the company to manage employees.According to the features of the first chapter,for example,there are many cultural vocabulary,slang,adverbial clauses and passive sentences,this paper adopts different translation strategies and skills to conform to the expression of the target language.On words and phrases level,literal translation with footnotes and free translation are adopted;as for adverbial clauses,hysteron-proteron,linear translation and division are adopted;three translation skills help to deal with passive sentences: translating into Chinese active sentences,passive sentences and judgment sentences.It attempts to provide some references to the translation of management text and references for the domestic enterprise management. |
