Chinglish is that misshapen, hybrid language that is neither English nor Chinese but that might be described as English with Chinese characteristics. It is not an acceptable language to native English people, because Chinglish will cause misunderstanding. Chinglish is produced frequently in Chinese to English consecutive interpretation. Chinglish is worth being studied carefully. There are different manifestations of Chinglish that can be found in Chinese to English interpreting:wrong collocations, unnecessary words, misuse of sentence structure. This thesis will analyze each manifestation of Chinglish. The reasons behind it are mother tongue interference and misunderstanding of source language. The author gives strategies to cope with Chinglish in Chinese to English interpreting in two directions: improvement of linguistic proficiency and interpreting skills. Chinglish in Chinese to English interpretation is complex and it can not be avoided in a short period. Yet with efforts, it is possible to reduce, or even avoid Chinglish in Chinese to English interpretation.
