The materials for this translation practice are two academic papers published in American Political Research Quarterly, which are related with American governance. The articles are, Evolution in State Governance Structures, Governance As Political Theory. The materials are featured by extensive use of subordinate clauses, rigorous structures and strict logic, based on the above features, and for the purpose of expressing author’s view completely, the translator chooses proper translating methods. The paper mainly discusses the translating skills of Appositive Clauses and Attributive Clauses.
