An Analysis Of Non - Verbal Communication In

Nonverbal communication occupies an important position in human communication, consisting of verbal communication and non-verbal communication.Non-verbal communication plays a crucial role, or even replaces the role of words.Neglecting the role of non-verbal communication will cause great difficulties to our normal communication, which can seriously affect the communicative purposes. In this paper, the author discusses the non-verbal communication in English-speaking countries by analyzing the classic American TV series——Friends. Firstly, the author do numerous work on finding, filtering and classifying the non-verbal communication appearances in this TV series. By combing the theory with the relative examples, the significance of non-verbal communication can be clearly perceived and comprehended.According to the detailed analysis, the author summarizes some main nonverbal communication behaviors which can be understood differently or be ignored. Therefore,non-verbal communication is inevitable in daily communication. In order to achieve more efficient communication and communicative purpose, a thorough understanding of non-verbal communication therefore is very important.
