| Recently, with the development of the sharing economy, linguistics has become more and more important in C hina for its being a critical cultural theme among countries. Also English linguistics writings become popular in China, and the Chinese editions are always short in supply. Therefore, the linguistics monograph Key Ideas in Linguistics and the Philosophy of Language was chosen to be the source text. This translation practice report will summarize the expression characteristics of the proper nouns, the noun phrases, and the noun clauses in the linguist ics monograph by studying linguistics knowledge, the Chinese speaking customs, and the flexible utility of translation strategies.
