This report is based on the first fifty sections from the Alberta Government’s Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act. As a result of long-term development, the Canadian adult guardianship system has become improved and perfected. Thus, using the Canadian adult guardianship system for reference helps to solve our social problems caused by old age, and also provides instructive meaning to the establishment of our adult guardianship system. After analyzing the text features of English laws and regulations, the report discusses some translation strategies of the legal terminology in guardianship context and the parallel structure. Finally, the report summarizes the translation principles of accuracy, consistency and specialization, which should be followed in legal translation in order to make the translation standard, professional and rigorous on the basis of the accurate understanding of the original. It is hoped that this report can be used for reference to provide help in the translation of similar texts.
