A Preliminary Study On The Migration Of County Administration In The Republic Of China

The seat as the core of administrative divisions, which experiences a complexity and changeable process, is the result of the various factors’ interaction. In the history geography field, academic research of the seat is inadequate. There is no one on the study of political seat during the period of the republic of China as a comprehensive and systematic study. This paper chooses the county seats in the period of the republic of China as the research object, which tries to present the basic context of the county seats migration process during the period of the republic of China. On the basis of predecessors’ research and the collecting work for the literature by me, the study is aimed at exploring the reasons of county seats’ migrations and trying to generalize all the moved county seats in the Republican period to find the general trends. Finally, the paper that selects a part of county seats moved in the past and now as a case tries to explain the meanings of the reach of seat changes in depth.
