After the 20 th century, with the rapid progress of science and technology, human’s power of transformating nature had been strenghthen, causing nature environment been unpredented destroyed, a series of ecological and environmental problems followed, it is urgent to solve the globle ecological issues, which caused not only by science and technology, but also capitalist production methods, economic system etc. Considering the social status of capitalism, and on the base of Marx’s ecological discussion of man and nature and western Ecological Marxist theory, O’connor described the double contradiction and dual crisis in capitalist society caused by the accumulation of capital、uneven development and the unreasonable using of technology, and proposed the idea of eco-socialism. O’connor’s dual crisis theory has achieved the unity of productivity、production relations and production conditions, of nature、culture and social labor, of ecological crisis and economic crisis, despite the unthorough criticism and unreality improvement, the inheritance and development to Marxism、the expanding and perfecting to Ecological Marxism and the exploring to new social model still make dual crisis theory a good example to us.
