Due to the change of social ideology, anincreasing number of painters now focus on folk life, changing theirpainting subjects to fruits and vegetables. And also, many artists findemotional sustenance in common fruits and vegetables we see everyday.Although the objects are all quite common in daily life, differentpainters can endow them with different feelings.Qi baishi placed his deephomesickness after lone time away from his hometown simply and purely inhis artwork. Lao Pu placed his ambitions and dreams elegantly and plainlyin his drawings. In Chinese paintings, the most common forms of expressionof fruits and vegetables are realistic painting ink painting bonemethod,Freehand style. This thesis firstly studies ancestors’ fruits andvegetables paintings and then fathoms their skills attentively. Combiningwith my own feelings toward various fruits and vegetables, the authorkeeps practical sketching and placing affections for fruits andvegetables in the finished works.
