In ancient Chinese painting theory,there is no such word as "Chinese painting".Since the 19th century,western paintings such as oil painting,watercolor and sketch have been introduced into China and gradually become a part of Chinese painting.At that tim e,in order to distinguish them from western paintings,people called traditional Chinese painting Chinese painting,referred to as "Chinese painting",and the term "Chinese painting" was gradually known and used by the public."Since the 20th century,scholars of the history of painting have been used to summarize traditional Chinese painting into three branches--figure painting,including figures,Taoist(immortal Buddha),ghosts and spirits;Landscape painting,including mountains and rivers,pavilion,palace,house wooden boat car,small landscape miscellaneous painting,boundary painting;Flowers and birds family,including flowers,feathers,vegetables and fruits,grass insects,arowana,plum orchid,bamboo chrysanthemum,etc." Vegetable and fruit painting refers to the painting of some relatively common subjects in People's Daily life,such as vegetables,melons and fruits,through the humanistic spirit and ink language,which also belongs to the category of flower and bird painting.In this article,for the sake of clarity,this kind of painting is temporarily referred to as "vegetable and fruit painting".In the development of flower-and-bird painting in China,there are relatively few paintings about fruits and vegetables,and flower-and-bird painting with regional characteristics is not common.The independent branch of flower and bird painting was in the wei,jin and southern and northern dynasties before the tang dynasty,while the beginning of vegetable and fruit painting began with king gu ye of the state of Chen.At the beginning of the paintings,vegetables and fruits only existed as the background,and few painters focused on the subjects of vegetables and fruits.During the southern song dynasty,people's ideology gradually changed dramatically,and painters began to transfer the objects of their paintings to the vegetables and fruits that are common in daily life.In the Ming and qing dynasties,the number of painters expressing the subjects of vegetables and fruits gradually increased,and the vegetable and fruit paintings began to develop gradually.This paper studies the origin of vegetable and fruit paintings and the development of flower and bird paintings in song,yuan,Ming and qing dynasties.Comb through with fruits and vegetables to early development process,in the southern region of characteristic fruits and vegetables as the main object of study,the south and north two region with fruits and vegetables subject analysis form,painter representative motif of fruits and vegetables,for example,from many aspects,such as humanities,the environment,fruits and vegetables properties study,so as to highlight the uniqueness of the southern region of fruits and vegetables,as well as the people in the southern fruits and vegetables and pen and the humanistic spirit and so on.The purpose of this thesis is to better understand the characteristics of fruits and vegetables of southern regions,master their growth habits and physical features,and have a systematic understanding of the cultural background of southern regions,so as to provide a certain reference for the research and creation of contemporary and future paintings of fruits and vegetables of southern regions.
