Theoretical Research And Empirical Analysis Of Urban Theme Culture Construction

Because of the strong competition of cities, the advanced resources haveconcentrated in the cities which in a superior position more and more. To keep city’sadvantages or to change city’s disadvantages, some city managers have made use ofcity thematic culture to guide city planning, economic and cultural construction andso on. Through this way, city’s characteristics have been highlighted. It has provedthat the thematic cities have strong competitiveness in practice.The theory and practice of the city thematic culture are studied in the thesis:The introduction introduces research background, scholars’ research states oncity thematic culture and research value.Chapter One gives basic theory, including concept, features, constituentelements and role of city thematic culture.Chapter Two is the core content of this thesis. It explores the strategic steps ofcity thematic culture construction from three levels：thematic culture clear, importand penetration, communication. This chapter builds a theoretical framework for thespecific implementation of city thematic culture.Chapter Three is a case study of Hangzhou. It detailed studies Hangzhou’spractice in city thematic culture, summarizes the achievements and experience ofHangzhou’s practice and gives some suggestions to Hangzhou’s thematic cultureconstruction.
