A Practical Report On Translating And Practicing Chinese Translation Of Ofl - Lattice Structure

With Chinese company’s development and cooperation with global companies, China has greater needs for development information of foreign companies. To get such information, the most convenient method is to refer to companies’annual reports, which are issued by global listed companies at the end of each accounting year. In an annual report, company profile, major products and main scope of services are included. The possessive relationships between nouns are complex in an annual report, which adds difficulties to translation.Of-genitive structure can accurately express certain language meaning and relationship between nouns. Because of its high frequency and accuracy requirements in annual report, a lot of studies have been made on its translation. However, these studies were mostly on category, syntax and semantic features of of-genitive structure without providing specific translation methods.This translation report is divided into three parts, and it puts forward questions in translating of-genitive structure and providing solutions. In the first part, introduction of of-genitive structure is given. In the second part, five solutions in translating are provided when of-genitive structure express possessive relation, subject-predicate relationship, subject-object relationship, description and apposition. In the third part, the relationship between of-genitive structure and’s Structure is briefly introduced.
