On The Narrative Art Of Tie Ning 's Novels

Tie Ning is a important writer in Chinese contemporary literary world, her writing practice runs through the whole New Literature Era. However, she is a model of individual writing which is excluded from collective writing. At the beginning of writing, her works is always popular with readers and critics. Because her works boast abundant interestingness and profound connotation in the content, on the other hand, she used various narrative techniques, all there made her works became the perfect combination between content and form.Based on classical theories of narratology at home and abroad, this paper takes Tie Ning’s works in the latest 40 years as study object to analyze the narrative techniques in her novels. The paper includes fours parts, it analyzes unique techniques in Tie Ning’s novels such as:story structure, reverted time, perspectives, voice and image by four aspects: narrative structure, narrative time, perspectives,voice, and image.Chapter One:from the perspective of the narrative structure, the chapter pays attention to "double plotline" in the novel structure and to "symmetry principle" in the created characters. On the other hand,the chapter analyzes the usage of " introspective dialogue" and number program, this two techniques are created by Tie Ning and made her novels boast delicate and natural structure.Chapter Two, this part pays attention to narrative time. It analyzes three techniques in Tie Ning’s novels:narrative time scale, narrative time arrangement and narrative sequence or frequency. From time scale to time length, Tie Ning melts objective time to herself subjective time.Chapter Three, from narrative perspective and narrative voice,this part analyzes diversification,flowability, separation and resonance of narrative voice. Tie Ning uses various narrative and narrative voice to make her story fascinating.Chapter four:from the perspective of imagery narration, this part analyzes the usage of image in two aspects:coherent theme and evolutive plots. Imagery narration is an important characteristic of Chinese narrative literature, Tie Ning takes image as lines to cohere theme and develop plots. Coherent and signifiant images strengthen narrative poetry and beauty.
