Generally speaking, when people mention the religious music, it seems to be the works made by occidental musical traditions. Nevertheless, with the liberation lead by the ideological emancipation and development of capitalism, religious music also became a party of the middle class culture gradually. Requiem, a significant traditional religious music genre, it isn’t no more than a simple religious ceremonial music type. The "Grande Messe des Morts (ou Requiem)" is a great religious musical masterpiece made by Hector Louis Berlioz and that’s also a small set of music type creation wrote by him. As a no-Christian, Hector combined his enthusiasm for music with the multitude’s belief in God and then he formed his specific musical "dramatic" performance. In this essay, we start with the discussion about "Dramatic" and "the Dramatic music" and its realization in Berlioz’s Requiem. Then, we begin to analyze Berlioz’s "dramatic" component in the works from both the music level and the social culture level.
