| Verbal measure words are a big part of the Chinese language. Mongolian students often encounter problem with verbal measure words. This is because there is not a lot of research in this area, and not a lot of research into verbal measure words error analysis. Consequently, Mongolian students often produce errors in using verbal measure word and then analyze the results. I summarize why these error occur then building on this foundation suggest some ways to improve the teaching of verbal measure words.In the introduction I explain my reasons of choosing this topic, the meaning of the research. In the second chapter I adapt some experts’ definition of measure word divide measure word into noun measure verb and measure word. I then further divide verbal measure into ….. I then look for these words equivalent counter parts in the Mongolian language.In third chapter I analyze the questionnaire. 69 students from NationalMongolianUniversity took part; including second, third-year, intermediate level students. These students already have a grasp of basic Chinese measure word, and they already understand some Chinese measure word. They are strongly motivated to learn Chinese measure word.In the fourth chapter, I analyze the errors found in the questionnaire, and find the reasons behind these errors. I then suggest some teaching strategies.In the fifth chapter, I include teaching chinese verb measure word tactics for Mongolian sutudents. I want to help Mongolian Chinese language learner better understand the structure, function and usage of verbal measure word. |
