The Erhu concerto “Tian Shan Feng Qing” is one of the early musical works composed by the current generation of composers Wang Jianmin. It is particularly rich in distinctive flavor of minority nationality, but is different from those traditional Erhu music. The specialty lies in that this solo is based on Xinjiang folk music, and the composer combines modern music with western music to form a brand new Chinese Erhu solo, which is regarded as a successful attempt. As a special composition, the solo requires more in intonation and skills while playing, thus, it is of great significance to analysis and discuss the solo from different aspects and in detail. Meanwhile, the study can not only help to develop insights of ethnic folk misuc works, but also can greatly raise the level of playing. Furthermore, it will provide new idea in creating unique Erhu works with both traditional and modern styles.
