Compared to traditional outdoor advertising, modern outdoor advertising takes a huge leap in vision and expression of art. Traditional outdoor advertising is accepted passively by audience without interaction while interactive outdoor advertising focuses more on the true desire of audience. Thus, the basis of the development of outdoor advertising is to explore and research the applying of interactive art in outdoor advertising. Besides, more abundant theory study and more complete theory system is a must. Interactive art encourages audience to participate actively in works, to experience and to feel, and finally to understand the meaning of works, which is the true marketing effect that it is created to achieve.With theory study and comparison between domestic and foreign outdoor advertising, the article concludes the categories of advertising and the disadvantages of traditional outdoor advertising. It is an important reference to the further development of outdoor advertising and theory study.
