The Criticism Of Late Capitalist Culture In The View Of Mass Culture

Frederic Jameson is a famous contemporary American marxist theorist,he comprehensive analysis of late capitalism political,economic,cultural and problems. His theory shows the distinctive features of Marxism,at the same time,also with the features of postmodern cultural theory.The history of Jameson applied the dialectical method, analysis the postmodern culture,as the dominant form of the cultural logic of late capitalism,also has a deep analysis of contemporary characteristics and a cause of the postmodernism. Study of Jameson’s thought, help us learn more about western postmodern cultural theory,grasp the characteristics of postmodernism, analysis the characteristics of the current society,for China’s future cultural construction has very important theoretical and practical significance.In this paper,by using comparative analysis and the method of text reading,reading the thought of late capitalism,Jameson cultural viewpoint,this paper analyses the feature of the post-modern society,causes and the development trend of the future,analyze the appearance and development of Chinese culture.This paper first introduces the research status quo of domestic and foreign experts to Jameson thought,and discussed the significance of research. Secondly,this paper introduces the Jameson’s postmodern theory of culture form the social background and theoretical background,and sums up the theoretical framework.Again,focuses on the main content of late capitalism,Jameson concept, analyses the general characteristics of post-modern society,so as to analyze Jameson’s theory of mass culture criticism.In the epilogue part,describe the mass culture in the background and development of China’s rise,combined with the principle of combining the particularity and universality,points out that Chinese culture has not been completely eroded by the modern western culture,China’s social and historical background,the actual situation to make it still maintained its own characteristics.This part of Jameson’s theory of culture made a dialectical evaluation, try to understand from elements conducive to the development of Chinese culture,get a useful guide for China’s cultural construction.The characteristics of this article is in reference to previous theories and thoughts,compared with nearly two years of hot Chinese social culture phenomenon to further description and analysis of Chinese popular culture shows the characteristics of some of postmodernity,thus let us feel more real inspired from the social phenomenon.Jameson in his ideological theory of combining the social reality and theory,this paper,the characteristics of these,are trying to make some real development of Chinese mass culture and cultural theory analysis.
