In April1934, Frederic Jameson was born in the United States Cleveland, He is one of the mostfamous American Neo-Marxist critics, postmodern theorists. he has studied at Harvard University and YaleUniversity, when he received Ph.D. he has taught at Yale University and University of California before1967, he is the most important Marxist critic and theorist, and his theorists in contemporary Westernthought plays an important role. His postmodern theory is postmodernism in the process of development ofthe indispensable one of representative form, Its theory has the very vital significance. Jameson fromideology perspective comprehensive brilliantly analyzes the capitalist culture, namely the postmoderncultural, political, economic and practical problem. His theory and extensive confused. Frederic Jamesonseriously excellent thinking postmodern problems, and his postmodern theory there is a lot we absorptionand learning things.This thesis focuses on Fredric Jameson’s postmodern theories from the viewpoint of Marxistphilosophy and modern cultural philosophy. This paper includes such contents as the origin of postmodern,the cultural characters of postmodern, development of postmodernism. At first, The first chapter explainspostmodernism origins. On the basis of Jameson a brief introduction, I have pointed out that the theoriesthat Mandel Ernest on the history of Capitalism, especially on late Capitalism, Raymond Williams onprevalent culture and Marxist on the mode of production are the base of Jameson’s postmodern theories.So, Jameson draws an important conclusion that postmodernism is the cultural logic of late Capitalism.Then, I study Jameson’s postmodern theories and give prominent to his critic on postmodernism. Jameson think, postmodern as the cultural logic of late capitalism, show the cultural characteristicsand the realistic and modern socialist is completely different, But the postmodern also are still as realism,as modern socialist showed an ideology. In the Last, this paper introduces advanced capitalist culture as thepost-modernism and realism, modern socialist of historical connection between inner and difference.
